I’m a bookish geek girl who loves to read, write, and drink tea. I have an MA in English and am currently working on a degree in library & information science. You can read all about my academic and professional exploits at A Good Book and a Cup of Tea.
I started this blog while on holiday during December 2007. After a long break from blogging, I decided to write about what I’m most passionate–literature. I’m a bibliophile and will read just about anything as long as the characters and plot are engaging. That said, I am particularly interested in 19th century British literature, Jane Austen, and Young Adult novels of the “Girls that do things” variety (e.g. books by Robin McKinley, Tamora Pierce, and others). I have a penchant for books that feature strong female characters.
the Blog
I chose the title “Things She Read” because it went well with Things She Said, my personal blog and domain.
My goal is to write a short reaction/review every time I read a good book (or when a book is so awful, I simply must speak out), though this might be easier said than done.
